DEMOCRACY IN ACTION:

Turning our 2026–2027 Plan Into Impact

As we enter a critical election cycle in 2026, the League of Women Voters of Broward County is not only setting priorities—we are activating them.

Our strategic plan is designed to meet this moment with clarity, consistency, and community connection. Now, our focus shifts to how we bring this plan to life together.

From Strategy to Action: What This Means for Our Work

To be effective, our efforts to engage the community must be visible, consistent, and measurable. In addition to concentrating activity around key election dates, we are increasing our engagement:

  • Voter education and outreach through social media and video
  • Monthly opportunities for community engagement and voter activation
  • Quarterly campaign pushes aligned with key election milestones

This approach ensures the Broward League remains a trusted, ongoing presence and source of expertise—not just during peak election periods.

Focused Outreach That Meets Voters Where They Are

We are sharpening our outreach to better target the low turnout precinct communities, with a focus on:

  • Young and First-Time Voters (18–34): Digital-first engagement, campus outreach, and relatable video
  • Black Community Engagement: Strengthening relationships through trusted local voices and organizations
  • Hispanic Community Outreach: Expanding bilingual content and partnerships within the community

By tailoring our approach to build connections, we increase trust with the goal of increasing voter participation.

Events With Purpose

Our events remain central to our work—but with sharper focus on meaningful communications, and connectivity.

  • Engaging and activating members
  • Reaching new audiences
  • Supporting fundraising and visibility

From membership meetings to reimagining our fundraising events, each event will play a clear role in advancing our mission.

Moving Forward—Together

Whether you volunteer, attend events, become a member of the Speakers Bureau, and make presentations, join our fundraising efforts—you are part of this movement. Together, we will engage voters, strengthen our community, and empower democracy for all.

We look forward to working alongside you in the year ahead.
