Ocklawaha Tales My Father Told

About this event

11-08-2025

America doesn’t have another river quite like the Ocklawaha in Florida.
This beautiful film is set to an original symphonic poem performed by the South Florida Symphony.

A panel discussion by the composer and producer follows about the need to remove the dam built in 1968 to help restore this river to its natural state which will help our fisheries and manatee population.

Sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Broward County, Broward Library, Sierra Club and Climate Reality.
